On the occasion of The City Gardens Club’s gala event on October 26, 2018, celebrating the conclusion of CGC’s Centennial Year, the Club was honored to receive many acknowledgments of its service to the city over the last 100 years. The Governor of New York State, Andrew Cuomo, wrote a warm and gracious letter, and the Club received impressive Proclamations from both the Mayor of New York City, Bill De Blasio, and Manhattan Borough President Gale Brewer.
As the CGC Centennial Year drew to a close, CGC was given an award by the Friends of Morningside Park in recognition of the Club’s contribution to Morningside Park, the Club’s Centennial project. CGC was also honored by the Von King Conservancy, on April 10, 2019. CGC had given funds to Von King Park, located in Bedford-Stuyvesant, which the Park used for landscape restoration and expansion of its educational programs.
